Fitbit Air Arrives in India Small Tracker, Big Insights

Loading views... Views

Wearable technology is becoming increasingly focused on health and wellness, but not everyone wants a smartwatch with a bright display, constant notifications and a relatively bulky design. Fitbit is taking a different approach with its new Fitbit Air, a lightweight, screenless wearable designed for people who want continuous health and activity tracking while keeping distractions to a minimum.

Fitbit Air is scheduled to launch in India on 2 October 2026, with a price of ₹13,999. The device will be available through the Google Store and retail partners and will come in four colour options: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog.

A Screenless Approach to Wearable Technology

The most noticeable feature of Fitbit Air is what it does not have: a screen.

Instead of displaying notifications, messages or fitness statistics directly on the wrist, Fitbit Air quietly collects health and activity information. Users can view their detailed data through the Google Health app on their smartphone.

This screenless design may appeal to people who want to stay focused during work, exercise or everyday activities without repeatedly checking a wearable. At the same time, they can open the app whenever they want to review their health information.

The tracker is also designed to be worn throughout the day and night, making continuous tracking an important part of the overall experience.

Health Tracking Throughout the Day

Despite its small size, Fitbit Air is designed to monitor several health and wellness metrics.

The device supports 24/7 heart-rate monitoring, heart-rhythm monitoring with AFib alerts, SpO2 tracking, resting heart rate and heart-rate variability. It can also monitor sleep stages and sleep duration.

Having these measurements available over an extended period can provide users with a broader picture of their daily activity, rest and wellness patterns.

Fitbit Air is also designed to complement Google's Health Coach. The combination of the wearable and smartphone app can provide users with personalized information and recommendations based on their tracked activity and health data.

Designed for Sleep and Everyday Comfort

A wearable that is intended to be used around the clock needs to be comfortable, particularly during sleep.

Fitbit Air uses a small, lightweight pebble-style design that sits discreetly on the wrist. Its screenless construction also means there is no display lighting up during the night or notifications interrupting sleep.

According to Fitbit, the tracker can deliver up to a week of battery life. When the battery does need charging, a quick five-minute charge can provide up to a day of power.

The design also allows users to switch between Fitbit Air and a Pixel Watch depending on their needs. For example, someone could use a smartwatch during the day and wear the smaller Fitbit Air while sleeping.

Activity and Workout Tracking

Fitbit Air is not limited to passive health monitoring. It can also support workout and activity tracking through the Google Health app.

Users can start workouts from the app, follow guided workouts recommended by the coach or simply begin an activity and allow Fitbit Air to automatically detect compatible exercises.

The automatic detection system is designed to become more personalized over time. Users can also manually record activities when automatic detection is not available.

Another feature highlighted by Fitbit is the ability to use Google Health Coach to capture information about certain workouts. For example, users can photograph cardio equipment or a circuit-training routine written on a gym whiteboard.

This combines wearable tracking with information available through the smartphone, creating a broader record of exercise and activity.

Band Options for Different Activities

Fitbit Air can also be adapted to different situations through interchangeable bands.

The Performance Loop is included with the device and is made from recycled materials. It offers micro-adjustment for a flexible and breathable fit.

The Active Band uses sweatproof and wetproof silicone, making it suitable for exercise and situations where the wearable may encounter sweat or moisture. Its ribbed design gives it a sporty appearance.

For occasions where users want a more understated look, the Elevated Modern Band is designed with a bracelet-like appearance and classic colours.

The interchangeable design means users can change the appearance of Fitbit Air without changing the tracker itself.

How the Spark 20000 mAh Power Bank Can Help

Someone buying Fitbit Air may also find a portable power bank useful, particularly because the wearable relies on a smartphone for accessing detailed health and fitness information.

The Spark 20000 mAh Compact Power Bank with 45W Quick Charging for Smartphones can help keep the connected smartphone powered during travel, workouts, outdoor activities or long days away from a wall outlet.

Its 45W quick-charging capability can provide faster charging for compatible smartphones and other supported devices. This can be useful when users need to quickly recharge their phone before checking their Fitbit data, recording an activity or using Google Health Coach.

The 20,000 mAh capacity also makes the Spark suitable for carrying additional power during longer trips. It can be particularly useful when access to electrical outlets is limited.

Another practical feature is its ability to charge up to three devices simultaneously. Someone carrying a smartphone, wireless earbuds and another compatible device can potentially charge multiple devices from one power bank, subject to the devices' charging requirements.

The power bank also includes protection features designed to help protect connected devices, including short-circuit, over-temperature, over-voltage and over-current protection.

It is important to note that the Spark's 45W charging specification applies to compatible devices connected to the power bank. It does not mean that Fitbit Air itself will charge at 45W. Fitbit Air has its own charging requirements and charging speed.

Fitbit Air Price and Availability in India

Fitbit Air is expected to be available in India from 2 October 2026 at ₹13,999 through the Google Store and retail partners.

The device will be offered in Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog colour options. Buyers will also receive a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which provides access to Google Health Coach.

With a screenless design, extended battery life, health monitoring features, sleep tracking and activity detection, Fitbit Air takes a different approach to wearable technology. Rather than putting more information directly on the wrist, it focuses on quietly collecting data and allowing users to explore their insights through their smartphone when they choose.
